Getting Rid of the Hollow Look
One of the many usual complaints people have as they age is that they begin to look hollow in the face. Some people get incredibly worried or concerned over this aged look, but this hollow look in the face is nothing to be concerned about. This hollow look is due to a symptom of aging called sunken cheeks and is a natural part of the aging process. It happens to everyone.
In today’s modern world of technology and medical wonders, anyone can be returned to their former, youthful, vibrant face and not be bothered or burdened with the hassle of sunken cheeks.
Getting rid of that hollow facial look is as simple as a quick dermal filler treatment. In fact, several temporary dermal filler applications are available to solve the problem short term: radiesse, perlane, juvederm and restylane are all great dermal filler options to solve the problem of sunken cheeks. These treatments can last for up to six months or as long as to a year, but can always be maintained.
Possibly you do not want just a temporary solution to the sunken cheek syndrome though. Perhaps you want something more permanent that you don’t have to continue to bother with on an annual or semi-annual basis.
Substances such as artefill and silicone injections can be permanent dermal filler options to fix sunken cheeks; however, keep in mind that there can be serious side effects with these permanent fillers. These side effects from the permanent dermal filler options can include a condition called granulomas where balls of infection develop underneath the skin some times months after the dermal filler treatment seems to have come off without a hitch. Other side effects of permanent dermal filler include serious scarring.
Sometimes natural fat injections can be used as an option for a permanent solution to sunken cheeks with no adverse side effects; however, the use of fat injections is not always necessarily a total permanent solution. The fat must be able to survive in the environment it has been injected into. The fat survival rate is based upon the general health of the patient, and the type of post treatment involved after the application of the fat injection.
